ISWA World Congress is around the corner. And if you are there too, in Cape Town that is, you could meet Wood2Wood consortium partner University of Johannesburg (UJOH), the prime project focal point at the venue, to explain everything about the project, which aims to transform contaminated wood waste using advanced separation and sorting technologies into high-value products. This marks the first time the ISWA World Congress is being held in Africa.
W2W is flipping the script in wood waste management by making waste valorisation a standard practice. This helps us move towards a Circular Economy where we extend the life of wood-based materials, keeping them out of landfills and incineration facilities.
In the pursuit of advancing sustainable practices and optimising recycling processes, W2W is dedicated to improving the separation capabilities of wood sorting mechanisms in line with environmental and technical valorisation parameters.
Since its inception, the W2W project has participated in several European events, including the European Robotics Forum 24, Waste Management Europe in Bergamo, and the Conference on Sustainable Solid Waste Management in Rhodes, among others. This will be the first time W2W will showcase its project on the continent to a global audience. Thanks to our consortium partner University of Johannesburg who will be representing Wood2Wood at the Congress.
